According to information received from U.S.A. by a dxer, it is XEYZ, Mexico City, on 760 k.c. Has any dxer received a definite verification from Moscow-Stalin (740 k.e.), Prague, or 2WL?-32T (New Plymouth),

W8XAL, on 49.5 metres, can be heard from midnight (our time), at R5, with noisy background. © = Latest verifications of stations on the broadcast band are from KDX and KLX, who sent an Ekko stamp and stated that they are always pleased to hear from New Zealand dxers-i64W (Wellinston), Extracts from Verifications. _ WIR (750 k.c.) owns and operates a 10 k.w. transmitter located at Pontiac, Michigan, and is on the air from 6 a.m. until 1 a.m. the following day. WFIW (940 k.c.): "Thanks a lot for the report, and let all the fans know that we are glad to co-operate with them at all times. We receive quite a bit of mail from your country. Best wishes to all DX fans." KLX (880 k.c.) : "It is always a pleasure to hear from those of our audience in far-off New Zealand, and we trust you will continue to be one of our valued listeners." KEX (1180 kc.) : "We wish to thank you for your letter and hope that you will continue to receive and enjoy our station, The programme you heard was ‘Cobwebs and Nuts’." KTAB (560 k.c.): "We want you to know that every comment and eriticism that comes to KTAB is carefully read and studied." Reception. in the evening is fast fading out and the American stations are becoming better on their early morning sessions, -KMOX, KMMJ, KIBI, KRLD, WLW and XEPN all being audible. Verifications to hand, seven in one mail, are: WJR, KEX, KHQ, KTAB, WFIW, KLX (Hkko stamp), and XGOA (660 k.c.) a beautiful posteard.-loTW (Wellington City). Correspondents Wanted. RECEPTION in this locality on October 29 and 80 was fair, but has since been very poor. I tried to log some of the American stations which were to give DX programmes, but could not even hear a carrier. My latest loggings are: 3HS, Horsham (50 w., 1370 k.c.); XGOD (1 k.w.) JOAG (500 w), JONK (500 w.) and 1YA, Auckland, at 10 a,m. on Nov. 1. My latest verifications are from XGOA (ecard and photo), KHQ (ecard), and VK5WB (card), I have been corresponding with an American dxer, Mr. E, ‘lL. Kimmons, of 809 Leland Street, Austin, Texas. He also desires to communicate with an Australian dxer and has asked me to find a short-wave member to correspond with Mr, R. M. Marti, Central Street, 26 Santurce, Puerto Rico, Also, any member wishing to exchange New Zealand views for American views, write Carl Heyn, 2738 W.22 Place, Chicago, Il-linois,-186W (Kilbirnie).
. XGZ Dismantied. 18 A: It is useless writing to XGZ as this station was dismantled last year, and XGOA was erected on its site. I have a letter from the latter station stating that the call XGZ would no longer be heard over the air. If "Cranky" (Feilding) would give the frequency of
his "wanted" station he would have a better chance of having it identified. Pos- ' gibly it is TUV-3HQ | (Palmerston North). Extract from XGOA’S Card. HP following extract from a cart received from XGOA may be of interest to some dxers. On one side was the call-sign, location, power 75 k.w., frequency 660 k.c,, and wavelength 454 metres. On the other side was ;-‘This is to inform you tbat the programmes you received from our station, as stated in your letter of June 24, 1933, are not exactly the same as we broadcast."-

Report Framed by KABC, A VERY fine letter was recently received from KABC. Away back in August 1981 I was successful in logging this station on their first DX programme, when their call was changed from KTAP to KABC. I never received a reply, so when I logged them again I mentioned my previous letter and asked if they had received it. Here is the reply, "Although it is over two years ago since we put on our special programmes, inaugurating the change of our call letters from KTAP to KABC, we want you [to know that we did receive your letter reporting on reception of that special programme on August 31, 1931, and we were so proud to hear from a dxer from so far away that we framed your letter of that date and have it hanging in our studios, and we want you to know that many a visitor to our studios has mar~ velled over the fact that you were able to get our 100-watt radio station away over in New Zealand. Thanks many times for this letter, for it is one of the prized possessions of KABC," WNBO, Silverhaven, Pennsylvania, a 100-watt station on 1200 k.c., sent the following particulars: They are the last independent station in that section of America, They operate on a frequency of 1200 k.ec., with a power of 100 watts. They are on the air from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, 3 p.m. till 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. till 12 midnight. This station would welcome reports from New Zealand dxers. Their letter-head is a fine one, with a map showing the position of the town, and a cigar-shaped aerial with WNBO on top. WLIT sent a scrap book of Bob White’s poems, autographed by Bob White himself. This contains some fine poems and is well worth having, LR8, Radio Paris, Buenos Aires, 1150 k.e., also sent a descriptive booklet wiih a letter. Though this is written in Spanish I can understand it slightly, and know it is a verification. ‘They also give a list
of their programmes.-
