The capital city is making this the biygest effort that New Zealand has ever known, and it wants lhe whole country to be there to share in the fun. Saturday, November 18: . Lord Bledisloe to open the carnival during the progress of the water pageant at Oriental Bay. Inter-collegiate sports championships at Athletic Park. Sunday, November 19: Special church services in all city churches, a youth rally, and a big sacred concert in the evening. Monday, November 20: Wonderful historical pageant, showing New Zealand’s history from the lunding of the first white man. The Wellington Bowling Centre holds its tournament at this tine, too. Tuesday, November 21: The historical pageunt and the bowling tournament are continued. Wednesday, November 22: Huge procession with 10 bands and Maori tableauw. Military displays and band contests, whippet racing, and a big rose show in the Town Halt in the evening. Thursday, November 23: A huge concert, a frec-for-all dance, and a night tattoo in the Basin Reserve. , ' Friday, November 24: Special displays in all the city shops with the Old Colonial Ball in the Town Hall in the » evening. , Saturday, November 25: The Battle of Flowers, and a — huge drill display in the Basin Reserve.
