"Trial of Mary Dugan" from Melbourne Next Week
NEST week is birthday week at 2BL, Sydney-the tenth anni-versary-and a suitable programme has been arranged for broadcast from the station on next Monday evening. It includes a talk on the history of the station. A complete performance of Boito’s "Mefistofele" is to be given over the national network from the same station on Thursday of next week. Tossy Spivakovsky, who was in New Zealand with the SpivakovskyKurtz Trio last autumn, will be heard in the symphony concert from 3LO, Melbourne, on Saturday. From the same station on Friday, November 17, the world-famous play, "The Trial of Mary Dugan," will be broadcast. Madame Madalan Masson, the eminent Australian pianist, will be heard from Sydney stations next week in association with Mona Nugent, well-known lyric soprano. Mr. E. J. Gravestock, theatrical entrepreneur who is known to all New Zealand theatregoers, will begin a series of talks, "An Impressario Looks Back" from 2BL on Tuesday.
