Attractive Programmes Scheduled from 2ZR. HE following are outstanding features in the Nelson programmes for the next week :-Wednesday, October 18: Lecture at 7.80 by Mr. J. H. Moore on "Early New Zealand Person-alities-Henry Garrett, Convict and Bushranger," and another at nine o’clock by Mr. T. A. H. Field on "Captain Bully Hayes." Thursday, October 19: Lecture by Mr. H. EB. Smith on "The Unemployment Problem," and another at 9 p.m. by Mr, C, Richmond Fell on "Einglish Legal Personalities," Saturday, October 21: An old-time ' dance programme from eight o'clock onwards. Monday, October 23: Mr. A. R. Kingsford will continue his talks on "War-time Aviation Experiences," and at 9 p.m. Mr. I. K. Mackay will speak on "Confucius and his Philosophy." Tuesday, October 24: Lecture by Mr. A. K. Griffiths on "War-time Naval Experiences," and at 9 p.m. Mr. W. E. White on ‘Magic and Magicians in Australia and New Zealand." ° * AST Tuesday Nelson listeners certainly got their money’s worth, At 6.30 p.m., 2ZR relayed from the Mayfair Tearooms an address given to the Nelson Rotary Club by Mr. Frank Milner, ©.M.G., rector of Waitaki High School, and one of Nelson’s most distinguished sons. Mr. ©. Richmond Fell. . in moving a vote of thanks. recalled . that Nelson had reason to be very proud of the fact that the district had produced two widely-known celebrities in the persons of Lord Rutherford, of Nelson, and Mr. Frank Milner. Later in the evening the professional welterweight boxing champ‘onship of New Zealand, which carries with it "Truth’s" Belt, was fought at the Theatre Royal between Ted Morgan, the present holder, and Gus Fitzmaurice, .of Gisborne. This contest, which went the full fifteen rounds, and attracted a packed house, was described by 2ZR’s sporting announcer, Billy Reed. ? .* . « R. H. E.
