N.Z. Short-Wave Club Notes
From the Secretary’s Pen HAV® to thank a number of listeners who reported on the test by W6FDO. Their reports have been posted away with a request for the station’s card. In view of rumours, I wish to state that the International Short Wave Club ig still in existence. This Society still continues to do remarkable work for the advancement of radio, and I will be pleased to forward particulars to anyone interested. The radio shack, or should we say whare, is becoming a home for members. At a recent meeting all hands went on to Morse and we are surprised to note that a number of well-known members can send quite a good fist. It is high time we had a QSL bureau. Amongst my mail I very often receive cards for members of other clubs, and very often no names are mentioned. I have several cards unclaimed belonging to dxers and short-wavers who probably have. the stations blacklisted. Reports are coming to hand referring to the performance of the Short Wave Club Two and the special Short Wave Club aerial. I wish to emphasise the fact that, if this Club is supported, we will do things for listeners. We have no paid officials, and rely entirely on subscriptions but, when finances permit, we may have some useful information when we have our experimental receiving station going. For information, write A. B. McDonagh, Secretary, N.Z. Short Wave Club, 4 Queen Street, Wellington Bi. Yours fraternally,
MAC
