Wrestling Fan Wants More Definite Announcements
To the Editor. Sir.-I wish to register my protest against the indifference shown by the broadcasting authorities in connection with broadcasting wrestling, especially leading bouts. It seems to me that it would be only courteous to those listeners -who are interested to definitely announce, say at 7 p.m., whether or not a bout will -be broadcast. . Take last night: Mamos and Meeske were to wrestle in .Christ‘church. I, in common with many country listeners, held on to Christchurch until after 9 p.m., and not even.a curt mention was made. Surely those who pay their license fees are entitled to a little thoughtfulness, at least. Many whose jobs entail gn early morning start stay up late to hear a bout described. I believe the bulk of listeners have no desire to hear "highbrow" or its opposite, but like anything out of the ordinary groove, In closing, I may say the Christchurch programme after 9 p.m. was a poor affair, and nothing would have been lost had it been "seranned."
