CHANCES FOR YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS.
Sees Good Prizes Offered for One-Act Plays N view of the intense interest being taken in dramatic presentations throughout the country, Tui, the lady editor of the ‘‘Exporter,’ is offering prizes for oneact plays suitable for presentation by women’s organisations. On selection of the ten or twelve best plays, it is intended that they shall be published in baok form at a modest price early next year, in order to provide suitable material so greatly in demand by women’s organisations for acting purposes. The conditions are as follow:First prize, £3/3/-; second prize, £2/2/-; and £1/1/- far ’ each of the additional plays judged worthy of publication. Entries close with Tui, lady editor of the "New Zealand Exporter’ and the "New Zealand Country Woman," Box 1001, Wellington, on December 15. Awards will be published probably in the February ‘Exparter" and "Countrywoman" and the volume itself issued in February or March at a price to be dependent upon the number of plays chosen, The judge of the plays will be pr. Victor S. Lloyd, the wellnown dramatic critic and producer. All manuscripts must be in ink, or typewritten, written one side only. Stamps must be enclosed if return is desired.
