Port Nicholson Band’s Broadcast Recitals
To the Editor. Sir,-Having received numerous inquiries as to the reason why the Port Nicholson Silver Band is not broadcasting its Sunday evening recitals this year, I would appreciate the assistance of your columns in removing an_ evident misunderstanding as to. the position. On behalf of the band, I wish to state that
the whole of this season’s recitals has been available for broadcasting unde exactly the same conditions should the Broadeasting Board have desired to relay them, The board has, however, up to the present, seen fit to relay only two recitals, The trend of opinion is that the band is withholding its concerts from broadcasting. This is ineorrect and I trust the above statement will make the position clear to our many patrons and sup-porters.-I am, ete.,
