Interference Committee
Personnel Announced [zt will be remembered that the Coyerage Commission in dealing with the question of power interference, suggested the advisability of setting up a to consider the best means of de&¥ing with this vexed and important aspect of the broadcasting service. The New Zealand Broadcasting Board favoured the proposal and sought the assistance of the Postmaster-General ‘and the Minister for Public Works in setting up a committee and in obtaining the appointment of suitable officers to act thereon. Both Ministers of the Crown were very helpful in the matter; and as a result of their assistance, the committee was duly set up, and held its first meeting on Friday, the | 21st instant. The personnel of the committee is as follows :- Mr. C. 8. Plank, Post and Telegraph Department. Mr. H. M. Millar, Public Works Department. Mr. G. Lauchlan, Electricity Depart- . ment, Wellington City Corporation, representing the Electric Supply Authority Engineers’ Association of New Zealand. Mr. A. Gibbs, Advisory Engineer to the New, Zealand Broadcasting Board. AS was to be expected, the discussion at the first meeting was of a preliminary nature and covered the subject in general outline. It also heard the views of the Coverage Commissioners. A. further meeting will be held at an early date, when it is anticipated that concrete proposals for properly handling the situation will be discussed.
