Grand Opera Singers from 1YA
Special Studio Concert on Sunday, 16th October ‘DURING the past few weeks many satelites have appeared before the microphone. First, Don Bradman, then Szigeti, and now the chorus from the Imperial Grand Opera Company which is at present touring the Dominion. Realising that it is only at very rare intervals that a musical combination of such magnitude visits the Dominion, the Board determined to leave no stone unturned to afford listeners an opportunity of hearing | some, at least, of the singers, and after protracted negotiations, arrangements have now been completed for a studio concert to be given by the male chorus of the company on Sunday, October 16, commencing at approximately 8.30 p.m. The broadcast will be from 1YA, Auckland, where the Grand Opera Company is giving a phenomenally successful season, and it is hoped that during its Wellington season arrangements can be made for a similar concern from 2YA. .
