W.E.A. Correspondence Course

HE W.ELA, Auckland University district, has introduced a correspondence course dealing with the economic’ crisis. The course is given to supply a guide through the maze of controversy which is now prevalent, by first surveying the situation as it exists, and then expounding as clearly as possible the main remedies. Such subjects as "The Hconomic Mg- . chine-Its Reactions to Recent Strains and Stresses," including poverty, money, eredit and mass production, and its search for solutions-the gold standard, economic planning, and the "managed" currency, are dealt with. By joining in the scheme one receives every fortnight typed notes of the lectures and the fee is only five shilling’, which entitles him to keep the notes. At the end of each lecture are suggested questions, which one is invited to answer. The scheme can be used by groups for discussion. Twelve such groups have already been formed. The recent talks on the financial policy and the crisis which were broadcast from 1YA were additional to the eourse. Application for further particulars should be made to the director of the W.B.A., The Old Grammar School, Auckland.
