WEDNESDAY
Auckland Notes T 7.30 p.m, during the W.H.A. session, Mr. N. M. Richmond, B.A, will give a talk entitled "Winancial Policy and the Crisis; the Call for a ‘Managed’ Currency." From 8 p.m. to 8.80 p.m. there wili be a half-hour of selected recordings. This will be followed by a short studie concert, which will include items by Haydn Murray’s Trio and humorous anecdotes by Mr. T. T. Garland. During the evening, there will be fifteen minutes of time reserved for lastminute items. Dance music will be re layed from the "Peter Pan" Cabaret at the conclusion of the studio programme, Wellington Jottings B*Y means of recordings, a galaxy of world-famous artists will broadeast this evening. These include Paderewski playing a pianoforte solo, Rubinstein’s "Valse Caprice." Eaward Styx, the violinist, will play "Invitation of Drums" and Edmund Kurtz will present two ’cello solos. "An Imaginary Broadcast," as acted by the Parlophone Variety Company, will prove very entertaining. There will be two novel yodelling turns when Geo. Dusen presents "The Yodelling Chinaman" and "The Yodelling Bullfighter." Christchurch Notes ‘THE outstanding feature on the evening programme will be @ fifteen minutes’ pianoforte recital by Beimuth Hoffmann, an eminent uvasician, now on a visit to New Zearam He will play works by Chopin, Schumann, Brahms and Gedowsky during a recital at nine o'clock. At eight o’clock there will be a relay from Holy Trinity Church, Avonside, where the 75th anniversary festival is taking place. The anthem, "Fest Gesang"’ (by Mendelssohn), as sung by present-day and old-time choristers, under Mr. Arthur Lilly, A.R.C.O., will be broadcast. Ancther attraction for the evening will be a recital by Sidney Williamson, tenor, who will present, with introductory and explanatory comments, a programme of love songs by Dr. Richard Strauss. Some of them will be sung in German. Dunedin Jottings T 7.40 pm. Mr. G. A. Wycherley gives a talk on the " ‘Come to Dunedin’ Week." The evening’s programme will include an illustrated talk by Dr. V. B. Galway, Dunedin city organist, on "Songs of Schumann." ‘The assisting vocalist will be Alfred Walmsley, tenor.
