2ZW’s Competition HEN interest has been aroused in radio circles by the Vacuum Oil Company’s amateur talent competition, which will be broadcast from station 2ZW on Tuesday, May 16. Substantial prizes are being awarded to the competitors who, in the opinion of listeners, contribute the best entertainment during the evening, and prizes Will also be awarded to the listeners who most accurately place the performers in order of popular favour. The prizes to performers will be °
awarded in accordance with the vote: of listeners, No names will be announced during the performance, each competitor being introduced to the microphone by number. The principal condition attaching to the competition is that performers must not hitherto have appeared before a microphone. Judging from the large number of entries received, and the class of item promised, a decidedly interesting provramme should be afforded _ listeners next Tuesday.
