Auckland Jottings HIS evening 1YA will carry out a special transmission of the broadeast of the public welcome to be given in the Town Hall to General and Mrs. ‘Higgins, of the Salvation Army. Wellington Notes This evening Arthur Clark (tenor) and Gordon Short (pianist) will be heard in a recital of Coleridge Taylor’s works. Mr. H, B. von Haast will give the first of a series of travel talks, this one being "Nikko and the Old, Japan." From Christchurch At 7.30 p.m. Mr. George Manning, M.A., will speak under the auspices of the Workers’ Hducational Association on the "Heonomie Problem of New Zealand. In the evening 2 popular programme will be provided by the Christchurch Municipal Band, under Conductor J. Noble. The Hilo Harmony Four, with Spanish and steel guitars, will play some of the latest popular airs.

Kathleen Cruickshank Who makes her first appearance in New Zealand radio on Monday, March 21, when she gives a recital at 2YA. London newspapers, reviewing her performances in the Aeolian Hall, bestowed very high praise on the quality of her voice. She then gave a recital in costume and wore gorgeous’. crinoline dresses. The "Daily Telegraph" said she "pleased the ear as well as the eye." Miss Cruickshank is a New Zealander, trained in _ Italy. The musical quality of her voice and. her distinct enunciation will please 2YA listeners on Monday evening.
