will be broadcast by 2¥A. Dr. Scholefield will give his weekly topical talk. 4 Features at 3YA "THE programme will be of a classical . Character. The Studio Orchestra will, under the conductorship of Harold Beck, play the overtures to Bellini’s "Norma" and "Verdi’s "La Traviata." Merle Miller, one of -New Zealand’s most talented mezzo-sopranos, will present a number of songs,.including a solo from "La Boheme," "The Isle of Innisfail," and "One Morning Very Harly." Some excellent recordings will be interspersed through the programme, and a Welsh sketch, "Owen Glendower,"’ written by Miss M. Carrington (daughter of Dean Carrington, of Christchurch, who is at present finishing her education at Oxford), will be read by Mrs, A. M. Spence Clark. 4YA Jottings A orchestral programme by A. H. Pettitt’s Octet, with solos and quartets by the Philharmonic Four and elocutionary recitals by A. Gorrie will constitute the evening’s classical entertainment.
