CZZII Zt 270m., 1110 k.e., on Feb, 18, at 1.20 a.m., a boxing match was being described between Hogan and Ryan, this one finished at 155 am. At 140 am. another match started, between O’Brien and someone else; this one finished at 2.5 a.m. when announcer gave his time as 10.5 p.m. Came in R4, fading badly. Feb. 7, from 4 a.m. till 6 a.m., station on 258m. (1160k.c.). foreign talk was heard between these times without a stop, was still talking when I shut off at 6 a.m. Came in R6.-DX64A (Mokau). Station apparently testing, between 4.30 and 4.35 p.m., February 15. Musie just audible, being the first side of the record, "Eleven more months and ten more days," played twice in succession. It came in on the same dial number as 4BH, Brisbane. I heard no announcement. as it closed down at 4.35. Station every evening between S and 9 p.m. at the bottom of dial (550m,). English is spoken. Dx Certificates. T would be a good idea to give a Dx card for the best log in every (istrict, something like the Dx Club eard. Kveryone cannot expect cups, but all the same ‘those who live in bad areas have not a chance in the Dx cups, but I'm sure a lot would be quite satisfied with a certificate with his name inscribed for the best log in his district. Could I get in toueh with anyone who built the S.G.N.Z.R. 5?-"‘Bung." [Why not enter your loe for the dis-
trict eertificate?

hours of 7 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. WABC, New York City, has been coming in very well lately, and when closing down at 7 p.m, is generally R4-R5. XED, Reynosa, although very good on the 16th, has not been so good since. He signs off at 8 p.m. 4BH is one of the best Australians with me at present; it can be heard soon after 7.30 p.m.-N. No Cards for WGN. A RECENT communication from WON states that they have ceased sending cards or stamps.-36MC. Effect of Wind. HAS any dxer observed the effect of wind? I notice that 1YA and other stations in the north Island, come in at good volume with a southerly blowing. The South Island stations are received
best with a northerly wind.

Communication from 3SH. GTATION 38H sent a verification card and a letter. The following extracts will interest dxers :-"'The delay in answering dx writers was occasioned while changing over from 8KU to 3SH, and I have a ‘number of stamped dx requests which I intend to forward as soon as I ron fit in the time. Assure the dxers that very shortly we will deluge the New Zealand mail with cards.’ "DP XL2TOC, Size of Badges. N my opinion the club badge is rather on the’ large size, and may be one reason why some members do not wear it, especially if a member already has a hadge on the lapel of his coat, as in my own ease. I think the badge would be far neater and much more in evidence it it was made about the size of the dx sticker, and instead of the safety-pin type was replaced by a long straight pin. so that if necessary it could be worn as a tie-pin. As another example of size, take the New. Zealand amateur transmitters’ badge. 640C: I am interested in your information re 4Z],, Dunedin. I sent a veport to this station about six’ months ago, and had given him up completely. You deserve a pat on the back for your offer to police the black-listed B stations in Dunedin. My last notes appeared as I)X21W-probably the poor old printer's error---but all the same, DX21\W must have got a shock wheu he beheld notes that he did not write.-DXNS1LW. Short-Wave.
