Radio Friendliness
An International Agreement ERMANY and Poland, with many matters between them which make friendly relations almost impossible, have yet concluded an extraordinarily fine agreement about broadcasting. We congratulate them heartily. The National Broadcasting Companies in each country have agreed tu a treaty by which they undertake in future to do everything in their power to ensure that all news. broadcast from their stations shall not compromise in any way the spirit of co-operation ani! good understanding that is necessayy if broadcasting is to fulfil its mission of drawing the nations together, : Nothing is to be broadcast about national activities. in one country which will in any way offend the national sentiments of listeners’ in the other, and these regulations are fe apply also to all news relayed by outside stations. The last clause of the treaty states that all matter broadcast by the Governments of each country is at their own responsibility. We hope sincerely they will not he behind the National Broadcasting Companies in ways of friendliness.
