W.E.A. Talks from 1YA
New Series ‘AFTER the conclusion of Mr. Oonstable’s talks on Bernard. Shaw, the W.E.A. talk from 1YA each week will be taken up by the Rev. W. G. Monckton, M.A. Mr. Monckton will give a series of five talks on international problems, beginning on Tuesday, November 24, with the subject of Manchuria. The two following talks will deal with the Russian five/@ear plan, and the concluding two Wialks with India. ‘Mr, Monckton is known to many as tutor of the W.H.A. international relations class in Auckland. With a knowledge of foreign affairs almost unrivalled in New Zealand and a fine gift for speaking, Mr. Monckton has attracted large audiences over the past three years, and listeners may look forward to an extremely interesting series. . As with the previous talks, a synopsis will appear in the "Radio Record" each week in advance of the talk, and those who desire to form groups for joint listening and discussion are invited to communicate . with the Director, Workers’ Educational Association, Old Grammar School, Auckland, giving the name and address of the person who is prepared to act as leader (ie., chairman and correspondent for the group). Correspondence addressed to Mr. Monckton, c/o the W.H.A., whether from groups or from individuals, who wish to put questions or criticisms, will be welcomed. The extent to which such correspondence can be satisfactorily answered will of course depend on its volume.
