N.Z. Short-wave Club Notes
Z9IW, Mr.'B. F. Hunter. will act as representative at the Wairarapa A. and P. Show this week, and, with a public address system at the Wairarapa Radio and Hlectrical Company’s stand, will enlighten visitors as to our aims and objects. Mr. Roy Olarke, ZL2AW, is visiting ZL2BE and other members, en route to Hastings, and is doing a little recruiting on his way. A number of ‘members who are visiting other districts have obtained lists of addresses so, with the subscriptions being lowered for the ‘remainder of the year it looks as though there is a trade revival. A ‘ember sent me down a paper and some literature from Saigon. printed in French. One member of .the staff was reading it upside down, but I gather ‘that one can become a membre d’honneur fos 1000 piastres.
We have! had to place a third order for club badge&’, and quite a number can _ be seen around the city now. The manufacture of these badges is quite an ‘interesting..process. At one stage of the operation they look ‘totally unlike the neatly finished article. i Members who have not received a list of stations which was posted with the circular in October are asked to write in. During this week I am having a cleanup week, This consists of going over the correspondence to see if anything has been left'out, In view of the increasing work I have to cut down visitors’ time in order to keep up to date. Very pleased to hear from _ shortwavers anywhere. Address me A. B. McDonagh, secretary N.Z. Short-wave Club, 274 Cuba Street, Wellington.
