Adult Education by Radio
International Conference T the annual conference of the World Association for Adult Edueation held in Vienna from August 18 to 22 there were two main subjects for discussion-‘Adult Education and Unemployment" and "Adult Education and Broadcasting." In the wireless section the use of broadcasting as a means of direct education was considered from several viewpoints; for instance, in combating illiterary; in supplementing technical and vocational training; in supplying professional and technical information, as in agriculture; and in increasing
musical appreciation. The possibili ties of broadcasting in the teaching of foreign languages was also consider ed, and plans for international co-oper ation brought forward.
