Auckland Notes {rom noon, 1YA will relay the results of the second day of the spring meeting of the Auckland Racing Club. At 8 o’clock a concert to be given by the returned soldiers of Morrinsville will be relayed. From 2YA THE two morning talks will be: At 11.12, Miss Christian on "Cooking," and at 11.37, a talk by a representative of the Red Oross Society. At 7.40 p.m, a lecturette will be given by a representative of the New Zealand Institution of Opticians, entitled "How We See." Mr. Ernest Jenner, pianist, will have charge of this evening’s "Musical Portrait." With Miss Wilda Chudley, contralto, he will present 2 half-hour of "Russian Music." Miss Christina Ormiston, the popular Auckland soprano, will sing "One Fine Day" (from "Madame Butterfly") and three of Liza Lehmann’s delightful "Bird Songs." Mr. D. L. Irwin, who created so favourable an impresgion on his first appearance a few weeks ago, will be heard in "Lord -Randall," "A Fairy Tree’ and "Where’er You Walk." The programme by the Orchestrina, under the conductorship of Signor A. P. Truda, will include an arrangement by Harty of Handel’s "Ariette Passa: caglia." From 3YA HD first of the W.H.A. weekly talks, under the new system of co-opera-tion between the association and the Broadcasting Company, will be given by Mr. Geo. Manning. He will speak on "International Causes of Depres: sion." The evening concert will be giver by the New Brighton Municipal Band

(conductor, J. A. Nuttall) and assisting 3YA artists. From Dunedin A TALK on "Thinking Success" will be broadcast by Mr. Gerald Lane, Dr. ©. M. Focken, lecturer in physics, Otago University, will be the lecturer during the international programme.
