4YA Musical and Dramatic’ *~ Committee A® the last meeting of the 4YA Musical and Dramatic Committee, Mr. H. P. Desmoulins (representing the Dunedin Choral Society) presided, there being present also: Messrs,:J. G. Butler (Royal Dunedin Male Choir), A, Cook (Dunedin Burns Club), H. Russell (Dunedin Orphans’ Club) H. Renfree (Anderson’s Bay Glee Club), H. O, McFarlane (Dunedin Orchestral Society), P. S. Anderson (Returned Soldiers’ Choir), J. Himburg (Dunedin Philharmonic Society), Lloyd Ross (W.E.A.), A. F. O’Donoghue. , Mr. Renfree, who took his seat on the committee for the first time, was cordially welcomed. The resignation of Mr. S. H. Osborn (Orchestral Society) was received with regret. Ther were apologies for absence from Mr, Max. Scherek and Mr. Crossley Clitheroe. The station manager reported on programmes broadcast during the past month and on coming attractions. The chairman brought up the question of the proposed Government control of broadcasting, and it was decided that a resolution strongly urging the retention of the present system should be forwarded to the PostmasterGeneral. After a general discussion on entertainment features the meeting adjourned. ‘
