From 3YA and 4YA

'{‘HH Phillips Sisters-a novelty duowill prove a clever and entertaining couple, for they are accomplished in singing and playing the piano, and trumpet. The young lady who plays the trumpet is only fifteen, but her performance rivals many brass band soloists. These sisters will present popular melodies, interpreting them in a novel manner, HW. J. Mee, a new radio artist, will sing "A Bachelor Gay," "Gipsy Love Song," and "When Irish Eyes are Smiling." Mr. Mee has had w very wide experience in front of the footlights, and has an. exceptionally fine voice, capable, of "putting across" any character of song, whether it be: operatic or popular vocal. ' Betty Hamilton will make her reappearance after an absence of some considerable time, and will sing, in addition to other numbers, "You Will Remember Vienna" (from "Viennese Nights") and "Along the. Road of Dreams" (from "One Heavenly Night"), both very tuneful and delightful.songs. Another artist who has not appeared at 4YA for some years is Ted Heaney, who will play popular selections on the piano-accordeon. Mr. Heaney is an outstanding artist with this instrument. — Another exceptional combination on the programme will be the Trumpet and Bugle Band of the 1st Battalion of the Otago Regiment under Lieut. L. Napier. Under excellent direction of Lieut. Napier, this band has reached a peak of excellence during the past three or four years. It is over forty. strong, and each member is a capable trumpeter and bugler. The arrangement of these calls, which has been left in the hands of Lieut. Napier, is most original, and the effect of the drums crescendoing up to forzando notes is excellent. Miss Holland will present humorous items on this occasion, whilst a very able trio, consisting of Monsieur B. de Rose, Messrs. Pettitt, and L. Hunter, will play selections from "The Desert Song’’ as well as light intermezzos and gavottes,
