1YA Notes FrRoM 12.30 to 1.30 p.m. the community singing will be relayed from the Town Hall. At 7.40 p.m. Dr. Wilkie, of the Health Department, will give a talk on "Personal Hygiene." The vocal portion of the evening’s ‘programme will be provided by Madame Humphrey-Steward, who is bringing a party of singers, performing a number of solos and choruses from "The Country Girl" and "The Geisha." Instrumental items. will be supplied by George Poore and his Orchestra. Mr, Poore is well known to Auckland musicians, both as a flautist and conductor. His orchestra is composed of members of the Professional Musicians’ Union, and listeners will be pleased with the excellent renderings of the various numbers to be played. 2YA Features ‘& TALK on "Fashions" will be given by Miss Mann, and Miss Flora Cormack will give a lecturette on "Hollywood Affairs." At 7.40 p.m. Mr. DD. A. Wilson will deliver a lecturette on "Tourist and Health Resorts." Dr. Guy H. Scholefield will be the lecturer for the international programme in the evening. Christchurch N otes AN officer of the Department of a Health will give » talk on "The Gare of Food in the Home." A debate between teams repre--senting the Canterbury College Dialectic Society and the W.E.A. will be broadcast in the evening. The

subject will be "That the Bachelor is Happier than the Married Man." The concert, which will provide the balance of the programme, will be of an operatic-classical nature. The Studio Octet will play "Hero's March," "Don Giovanni" overture, "Cuban Dance," and a suite by Foulds, "Musie Pictures." . ‘Dunedin Features ‘TH afternoon talk by the Home Science Hxtension Department of Otago University will be on "Meals om

a Tray." At 7.15 p.m. Mr. G. A. Holmes will speak to farmers about "Spring Manuring." Both talks will be under the auspices of the 4YA Primary Productions Committee. . A half-hour lecture recital on "Programme Music" will be featured _ in the evening. The speaker will be Mr, ©. Roy Spackman, assisted by Mr. L. Bunter (’cellist), and the recital will be given under the auspices of the Society of Professional Musicians of Otago. On the supplementary programme will be such fine artists as Mr. W. J. Kershaw (bass), Miss Dorothy L. Stentiford (contralto), Miss Hvelyn Shepard (soprano), Mons de Rose (violinist), and a trio consisting of Messrs. A. H. Pettitt, de Rose and L. Hunter.
