Auckland Notes ‘PoE studio concert will be given by the’.Auckland Society of Musicians, whose last programme at this station created very favourable comment, Two well-known Auckland vocalists appear on the programme, Patricia . McLeod (lyric soprano) and A. B. Thompson (an artistic baritone ‘who will sing several numbers from Arthur Somervell’s setting of Tennyson’s "Maud’’). Broadcast from 2YA ‘PHE studio concert will be given by the Wellington Artillery Band and 2¥A artists. Items that should prove of interest will be three songs°to be _sung by Mr. R. J. Madigan (bass),
"Ochone, Bridget O'Flynn." "Katie McGee," and "fhe Bosun’s. Advice," all three written and compiled by Mr. Harry Coventry, a local writer, who has already a reputation as a poptlar song writer. Also on the programme will be a piano recital by Sydney Francis Hoben, who has chosen for his nt:bers "On Wings of Song’ (by Men-delssohn-Liszt), ‘Minstrels’ (by De-bussy),-and "Danse Nese" (by Cyril Scott). Notes from 3YA HE Melodious Four will sing a number of concerted songs, inciuding two negro spirituals. an old Puglish song "To the Maypote," and the old favourite "Sweet ard Low." Soprano solos will be contributed by Frances Yamerton and mezzo-contralto" songs by Millicent Jennings.
