Auckland Notes N Sunday afternoon there will be a relay of a portion of the organ recital to be given in the Town Hall by the city organist, Mr. Maughan Barnett. ; In.the evening Divine service will be relayed from the Pitt Street Metho‘dist .Chureh, the preacher being. the ‘Rey. W. Walker, and the organist and choirmaster, Professor W. A. Moore. Appeating on the after-church concert "programme will be Mr. William: Gemmiell, the well-known baritone. Mr. Gemmell has sung for many of the societies throughout New Zealand, and is the conductor of the choir of the Beresford Street Congregational Church. Instrumental items will be rendered by the Whisker Quartet and by Mr. Cyril Towsey, studio pianist. The relay of 4YA’s after-church concert will follow. From 4YA HB popular Salon Orchestra, of nine players, under the conductorship of Mr. A. H. Pettitt, assisted by Miss Myra Stokes, Mr. Norman Gamble and Mr. W. N. Satterthwaite, will provide the after-church programme from the studio. Of special interest will be a

_new selection that is to be played by the orehestra on this occasion. "From A to Z" is the title of the piece, comprising . twenty-six selec-

tions from the works. of well-known composers, arranged in alphabetical sequence. "A" stands for Abt, "B" for Beethoven, "C" for Chopin, "Dp" for Dvorak, and. so on, the ultimate effect being a selection of classical origin, full of melodic continuity and with excellent harmonic effects. The orchestra will also present a Selection, "‘The Voice ‘of the Bells of St. Stephen’s," a Viennese melody, and *Rozsa Czardas," a Hubay extract. This latter has plenty of work for the violin, is bright and cheery, and will be a welcome addition to the programme. The concluding item by the orchestra will be an Italian march, "Florentine," by the orchestral marchking, Fucik. Miss Myra Stokes and Mr. Gamble will present duets in addition to solos,.one of which will be Rubinstein’s "Wanderer’s Night Song." The song chosen is a fine example of this composer’s work. Mr. Satterthwaite’s contributions will be "The Link Divine," by Piccolimini, "Nearer My God to Thee," by Carey, and "The Beautiful Prayer," by Gray.
