1YA Notes — ha At 3.15 Mrs. Les. Crane will continue her talks on "The Beauty of Mind and Body in Relation to Tiet," and at 7.40, Mr. N. M. Richmond will discuss, under the auspices of the WE.A., "Democracy-Do. We Want It, and Can We Have It?" The vocalists for the evening are Madame Cora Melvin (soprano) and Mr. Norman Day (baritone), already well known to listeners, They will be heard in solos and duets: Mr. Day’s solos will be two of Wallace’s "Freebooter Songs’-"‘Son of Mine" and "The Rebel." Madame Melvin singing "The Songster’s "Awakening" and Korsakov’s "Berceuse." Miss Doris Moore (popular contralto) will be heard in "Cradle Song," "O Flower .of all the World," and "My Jewels." Mr. A. B. Chappell, M.A., will give his weekly topical talk, and the Orchestral Octet, under’ the direction of Mr. Harold Baxter, will-play among other numbers selections from "Tristan and Isolde" and "Lucia. di Lammermoor." Dance music will follow until 11 p.m. Wellington Features "TH weekly talk: for the man on the land by a representative of the Agricultural Department will be broadeast. . A programme of’a diversified nature will be presented in the evening. Bari- tone solos by Mr. ‘W. HB. Crewes will have orchestral accompaniment, and 7A violin obbligato will be provided for contralto solos by Mrs. M. R. Nicolson.’ As novelty numbers, Standen and Gibson will present some of the latest popular airs. -An expert siffleur, Mr. EH. T. Feeney, will contribute to the programme, and a bright selection of ~~
