4YA to Hold Radio Picnic
A® a meeting of the 4YA Children’s Sessions Advisory Committee it was decided that.a radio picnic should be held. The Rey. 8. J. Cooper (Anglican Boys’ Home) presided over the meet5 When there were present: Mrs. snton Ieech, League of Nations’ ‘branch and National Council of Women; Miss Telfer, Presbyterian Social Miss Anita Winkel, Aunt Anita, Pastor W. D. More, children’s organiser; Mr. A. H. Williamson, Headmasters’ Association) ; and Mr. A. F, O’Donoghne. The picnic is to be held on Saturday, March 21, at Hvansdale, and the transportation of the crowd expected is to be carried out by the Railway Department. All preparations for the picnic are now in full swing. Reporting to the meeting regarding the installation of sets in hospitals, Pastor More said sufficient money had been raised to wire the whole of the akari shelter, erecting a new: aerial, , and presenting 30-sets of headphones. There was in hand a credit balance of 35/-, which will be used as the basis -for a fund to wire up the children’s ward in the Public Hospital.
