THE first talk in a long series to be given from 1YA this year on the subject of New Zealand manufactures will be heard on March 5. This series will be continued every Thursday from then on till the end of November. A great deal of interest in Dominionmade articles should be aroused by those. talks, which will be delivered by men who thoroughly ‘understand the particular manufacture they talk about, and the trouble and time given to arranging therh should be well rejgid. by an increased demand for New 1 land-made products. "act ON March 6, the Apache Dance Band a new -combination, is to make its microphone debut from 1YA. This 1s undoubtedly one of the finest dance bands in Auckland, and their spirited playing should materially enliven the local radio programmes. HH 1YA Minstrel Show, which was ~ . mentioned in these notes last week, is now definitely scheduled for presentation on March 12. From all accounis this is a show not to be missed. ANOTHER half-hour recital night will -be -held at: 1YA on March 3, One of the artists will be Miss Kai Campion, who is generally recognised as the finest operatic soprano in New Zealand, and who was formerly with the Carl Rosa Opera Company. " ON February 26 a novelty entertainment, entitled "Country Life," is to be.presented from 1YA. This is to take the form of a surprise party at a farmhouse, and listeners can look forward to a jolly time there. Full sound effects of the farmyard animals, the rumbling and creaking of the farmyard cart, and other incidental noises will add to the realism of the entertainment, The farmer and his party will dance, in the barn to concertina music. This novel show has been arranged by Mr. Alan McSkimming, who, by the way, is at present announcing during the afternoon at 1YA until Mr. Culford Bell returns from his holiday. , "MR.
