items from 2YA "ME. H. ©. South will be on the air from 2Y¥A at 7.40 p.m. to deliver another of his interesting talks on "Books-Grave and Gay." At 8 p.m. the Orchestrina, under Signor A. P. Truda, will play the overture, "Maritana," and during the evening. will be heard in the selection, "I Pagliacci," the "Suite Grave," the selection "Lily of Killarney," and the valse, "Dance of the Rose Hives." The.vocalists for the evening include Mr. G. Austin
Blackie (tenor); Miss Nora’Gray (soprano), and Mr, George Neel (baritone). Miss Madge Thomas and Mr. John Sturr will be heard in an interestfe sketch entitled "Kiddie," by Twyord. Features from Christchurch A FURTHOR talk of the series, "The Story of the -Garden,": told in dialogue form by Messrs. HE. EB. Wiltshire (vice-president of the Canterbury Horticultural Society) and F. ©. Fairclough, will be given at 7.30 p.m. An open-air concert (weather permitting) will be broadcast by the Christchurch Municipal Band (conductor, Mr. J. Noble) and assisting artists. "The band is up to contest form .and. will present an attractive programme. 4YA Items Miss MOLLIE VICKERS, popular " soprano, makes her reappearance before 4YA microphone after a vacation, when she will be heard in three exceptionally popular ballads, "Days of Joy are Here," "By the Waters of Minnetonka," and "Coming Thro’ the Rye." Miss Margaret Sealye, who hes. not been heard over the air for some considerable time, broadcasts to-night. The instrumental portion of this programme is in the hands of the ‘ Novelty Syncopators, an extremely popular combination of jazz artists, each one of whom can play several instruments. It is quite a frequent occurrence during the presentation of a popular "hit" to have every member playing a string instrument, the broadeast effect being exceptionally fine, . Mr. Moore-Wilson, the syncopators’ popular: pianist, will present "Caprice Viennoise." .
