MISS Marjorie Chapman, 'cellist of the 3YA Studio Octet, commenced study of the pianoforte at the convent of the Sacred Heart; Christchurch, in 1920, and later continued under Mr. Heward Moody. Her study of the 'cello began in April, 1922, under Herr Zimmerman, joining in a few months' time Miss Flint's juvenile orchestra. In 1924 she became a member of the Christchurch Orchestral Society, afterwards playing in the orchestra, at the Crystal Palace and Civic Theatre.
