Telephone Noises

T the monthly meeting of the Wellington Radio Society complaints made previously to the Broadcasting Company for the intrusion of telephone dialling noises in the transmission of 2YA were answered by the explanation that these noises are picked up on the land line connecting the studios with the transmitting station. It is the P. and T. Department and not the Broad-~ casting Company which is responsible for the efficiency of land lines. The company’s engineer has resorted to every expedient to "kill" the unwante ed noises, and it is now up to the P. and T. Department to do its bit.
