Spring Cleaning HE afternoon talk from 1YA, 2YA, and 8YA will be on "Spring Clean-ing’-a talk arranged by the Home Science Extension Department of Otago University. From Auckland At 7.40 p.m. Mr. N. M. Richmond, B.A., will give another of his interesting lectures on "The Problems of Capital and Labour." The Minus Fives, the popular 1YA entertainers, will delight everyone with a novelty entertainment entitled "A Night of Convivialities." This will be on lines similar to the first one broadcast by this merry band of performers, and this evening they will be assisted by the Studio Trio and Frank Wade’s Melody Boys. Wellington Notes TALK on "Gardening Hints" by Mr. Wm. Jackson will be broadcast at 7.40. The Wellington City Salvation Army Band will provide the concert this evening. The band, performing under the conductorship of Mr. H. Scotney, will play some fine selections and marches. The Lyric Male Voice Quartet, Mrs. R. D. Potts and Mr. A. R, Seal will assist. Mrs. R. D. Potts, who

possesses a light soprano voice, is making her first performance over the air. The Lyric Quartet’s items will include concerted numbers and.solos; one of the former, "My Lullaby Morn," will have a ’cello obligato, played by Miss Lilla Hill. The same artist will also pay an obligato to Mr. Roy Hill’s solo "Had You but Known." Novelty piano solos will be given by Mr. N. C, Izett. From. Christchurch pan farming talk this evening will e given by Mr. H. de O. Chamberiain of the Department of Agriculture, on the subject of "Boys’ and Girls’ Agricultural Clubs." Two very fine quartets will be heard this evening: "In this Hour of Softended Splendour" and "Softly Fall the Shades of Evening." The vocalists will be the Grand Opera Quartet, the members of which will also sing a number of solos and duets. The evening’s concert will include a_ specially fine programme by the Studio Instrumental Octet under Mr. Harold Beck. ifiss Irene Morris and Miss Thelma Cusack (violinists) accompanied by the orchestra will play Bach’s "Largo."
