Comprehensive Radio Equipment LOSELY following the news that a British expedition has left for the Arctic in Shackleton’s ship the "Quest," to plot an air route to Canada, comes an intimation that the Rumanian Arctic Expedition recently left Cherbourg, France, for a prolonged stay in the Polar regions. With a view to establishing regular direct communication with its headquarters in Austria, it has been liberally equipped with wireless transmitting and receiving apparatus. Installed’ at the base camp will be a 200 watt short-wave transmitter for long- distance work, a small 75 watt plant to be mainly used for communication with amateur experimenters, and‘a 15 watt transmitter for the purpose of keeping in touch with the expedition’s aircraft. ~~
