Round the World on Short-Wave

AS§ there are so many American shortwave stations now working on about 49 metres, the following list of American and Canadian short-wave broadcast stations, with their hours of transmission, will be useful. I am indebted to Mr.

Mr, Bell also writes:-"During this month I commenced television, I have been ‘looking in’ on W8XK, Washington, d¢., and W2XCR, Jere City, who broadcast movies. W3XK_ is on 103.4 metres, 8 till 10 p.m., B.S.T., except Saturday and Sunday, W2XOR is on 107.1 metres, 2 p.m. till 4 pm. and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. except Saturday and Sunday. These are stations and are the best. URING the past week a "Chain of Luck" was received from an American short-wave listener. This consists of a list of seventeen names and addresses of short-wave listeners who have reported NRH at different times, Mr. Cespedes, the owner of NRH, sent it to the first on the list, with the request for him to sign his name, date received, and date for warded to the next name. This proces dure is followed till the chain is complete, the last name being the sender. Mr, Amando Cespedes, Marin, Heredia, Costa Rica. Nine of the persons reside in various parts of America. Two in Canada, British West Indies, England, Spain, one each; and New Zealand, two (Mr. A. -P. Morrison, Brooklyn, and myself). All members of the chain are invited to be vety good friends by writing each other.
