THE first of a series of inter-Varsity debates had been scheduled for Monday, July 14, but owing to the great traffic at present on this circuit the Post and Telegraph Department has advised that it regrets a line cannot be made available for the period required. The debate has therefore to be indefinitely postponed. The intention in regard to these debates was that Auckland and Wellington Universities should hold a debate, then Christchurch and Dunedin, the winners then to méet.
