Siberia Calling
4 ON June 18, at approximately 10 p.m., the Russian station RD 15 (whose ? eall till recently was RA 97) broadcast a speech in English. This was clear"readable. A woman gave a very in&passioned address, and, according -. tof her, the present situation in India is likely to become grave through agitation by Communists. The sentences: "India is listening to the Soviet proposals," and "the Mohammedans will cast off. the British yoke," etc., were repeatéd several times. ; Russia is apparently trying very hard to get a hold in India, and ac- ; cording to the lady giving the address ; has got a large finger in the pie already. When the address was concluded, the lady announced that she would be on the air again (speaking English) at the same time to-morrow, and gave the station call, RD 15, Siberia, Russia, wavelength 70 metres. -H.
