News from England
HE B.B.C. officially announces that it has adopted a practice of expressing frequencies in terms of kiloeycles per second. The frequencies of the B.B.C. transmitting stations has hitherto been indicated in terms of kilohertz, 1000 cycles per second. The name kilohertz has never been popular, and, in fact, has been subjected to a good deal of ridicule, and listeners in England will no doubt feel relieved that this cumbersome name has now been discarded.
