"Talkies" on the Air
Broadcasts by 2YA N interesting feature introduced into 2YA programmes is a weekly broadcast from the "talkies* at the Majestic Theatre. This is being done by arrangement with the FullerHayward management. Broadcasts are of selected’ pieces and are much appreciated by listeners. One correspondent, in a country town in Taranaki, writes: "Friday last we had the pleasure of hearing the ‘talkies’ broadcast by 2YA. It came through splendidly. The only fault was that there was not enough of it. You know, people living in country towns do not get much of a chance of going to the ‘talkies’ unless it is some travelling show of which we had a sample a couple of weeks ago. It was quite enough to put people off ‘talkies’ fot all time. Would it be asking too much if I suggest that you let us have some more. I am gure lovers of 2YA would feel grateful. Your broadeasting always comes through splendidly and one is almost always asked to ‘leave it on Wellington" :
