AS the ‘value of the detector’s grid, leak has.an important effect. upon the sensitivity of the set, it is a good plan to try-all the grid leaks you have on hand, especially in a short-wave receiver, = 'THRESHOLD howl. in. a short-wave set can sometimes be cured by connecting a large fixed condenser of 2 mfd. or more across the A battery ‘terminals. . ,
