Acknowledging Donations THE following letter reaches us from Mr. BE. Ormond, secretary Port Nicholson Silver Band :- On the occasion af the last Sunday evening recital of the above band, an appeal was made to the audience for a retiring collection to assist the band in the purchase of a-new set of uniforms. An invitation was also extendéd to listeners-in to assist in this matter, and we are pleased to state that the response from both sources has been very pleasing indeed.
In reference to the listeners-in who have forwarded donations, they have been thanked by letter in every instance where it has been possible, but several donors have preferred to remain dnonymous, and it is for the purpose of reaching these people that we solicit the assistance of your muchread journal. We would be grateful, therefore, if those listeners-in who forwarded donations under the above conditions would please accept the band’s sincere thanks and appreciation for their kindness, both in respect to the donation and for the many kind remarks and good wishes expressed.
