-_qayome ae Good Prizes Offered -- Somn weeks ago the Radio Society of Christchurch decided to hold a set-bullding competition for members, At a meeting held last Thursday night it wak decided to invite the general publie to: participate in the competition, and tivo ¢lasses were set aside for that purpose. Class 1: Broadcast. receivers having one or more valves, Class 2: Shortwave recelvers having any number of valves. Thére will bé.a first and second and possibly, a third prize in each class. Prizes, Which will be of a valugble nature, will be donated by the society, the trade, and individuals. CONDITION 8, Machines. entered must be completely assembled by the entrant.and 9 cer: tificate that it is his own work must accompany each receiver. The Hon. Secretary, Radio Sactety of Christchurch, 198A St. Asaph Street, Onrigtchurch. Stating: Full name and address of entrant, Class of machine (broadcast. or shortwave) it is desired to enter, Age, if under 21. Occupation. Persons may enter for both classes should they so desire. Entries must be accompanied by 2 postal note or money order for Ss., which will be refunded when the machine is entered. The last . date for receiving entries is WHPNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26. 4 Receivers must be ‘received at the Soclety’s tooms, 198A St. Asaph Street, on Thursday, October 31, between 7.30

The names of the judges will be announced at a later date, but will probably inelnde. amongst others Messrs, A, McLennan, B.B., and ©. Machines assembled from kits are eligible. "All-waye" receivers aré eligible in either class. A member of the Soclety has offered ‘a special prize of a set of Mullard valves to the competitor" ‘(in either class) using English ‘or: Australian parts throughout his receiver. " ‘
