Dinner Session Introduced at 3YA.
OMMENCING on Monday, August 26, a Dinner Music Session will form part of 3YA’s schedule of daily broadcasts. It was on: April 29 that a similar special session was inaugurated at 2YA, and the three months’ test has proved that it is greatly appreciated by listeners, #6t only- in "the. towns, but also in the country. The General Manager of the Broadeasting Company intimated at the dinner given by the "Radio Record" on August 9 that the Company would introduce as soon as cone. be arranged a Dinner Music Sessioii‘at each of the other stations, and no time has been lost in putting. the proposal into ." ¢ a ie hg / > The 8YA session will follow on. the. same lines as that at 2YA. The session will commence at 6 o’clock, and will consist of four periods of approximately ten minutes, commencing precisely at 6 p.m:, 6,15, 6.30 and 6.45, These periods will, therefore, be separated by a silence of several minutes. Specially selected and arranged gramophone records will provide the music, and’ there. will no announcements, save thé superimposing of the station’s call-sign,-for the Regulations require that' the name of the station be announced every quarter of.un hour. ~ cot ‘+ fhe introduction of the Dinner Music Session at SYA means-an alteration in the hour of the Children’s Session This ‘vill in future commence at 5 o’clock instead of 6. _ ° , ° ., An announcement regarding 1YA will be made next issue.
