Marconi and the Dominions
IN a recent interview, ‘Signor Marconi informed the "Daily News" that he could see no‘reason why. the Mother Country should not be linked up with the Dominions by wireless telephony# He deciared that official sanction was all that was needed before establishing a regular commercial service, such as Germany’s beam telephone to South America. As an illustration of this possibility, Signor Marconi remarked on the success with which the Thanksgiving Service had been relayed via Canada to. the Dominions on July 7. He said that this in itself was proof that there were no technical difficulties in the way of his project, and the only reason that he could attribute to the hitherto non-establishment of the beam telephone was perhaps the selfishness of the Post Office in its desire to keep wireless telephony for its own exclusive use, and to leave wireless. telegraphy. to us, De cniaatathantertoen teneniowsapemendemancrasheansnnvntinisepteoeramatnanciniabemninbsiassainsnensintpeaiated
