HE B.B.C.’s new big studio at Savoy Hill is prebably going to be the only one of its kind in the world. It will be designed in a fantastic green, blue, silver and yellow scheme. The walls are felt-covered, and soundabsorbing walls have been constructed, also. On the walls are pictures of castles towering from a shore of a lake into the clouds, and the effect is heightened by subdued indirect illumination. Altogether it sounds rather like a dream palace. Much better ventilation has been secured and, according to an official of the B.B.C., the studio will no longer possess the old unnatural atmosphere of early designs, but it will now be a cheery, bright place, which will make artistes feel happy and will: give them the right colour and atmosphere.
