Monthly General M eeting BOUT thirty radio enthusiasts attended the last general meeting of the Wellington Amateur Radio Society. It was expressed that the interest in the méetings was waning and something should be done in the way of rejuvenation. The society stands for the furthering of all interests in radio, and it is felt that with a greater membership more interests: could be devekoped. Excellent lectures are given périodi sally, yet on the whole they are podrlyMattended. Pndeavour was being made to arrange for Mr. Owen, who has recently visited England, to recount his observations of radio abroad, and the meeting promises to be one of ‘unusual interest. In conclusion, Mr. Brown remarked: "Broadcast the news far and wide, and let us haye a real ‘bumpet’ meeting. Let us ‘start with the real monkeygland -thing." The speaker for. the evening was Mr. W. M. Dawson, technical engineer of Philips Lamps (N.Z.), Ltd., who chose for his subject "‘Pentode Amplification." The synopsis of his lecture will be published next week.
