N Sunday, the service conducted by the Rey. Jasper Calder, of the Central Mission, will be broadcast from the Lewis Hady Hall. A studio concert will follow. The local artists will be Miss Phyllis Hazell, Mr. BH. R. Errington (fenor), and Mr. Arthur Colledge (bass). OPERATIC excerpts to be performed on Tuesday evening will be taken from Edward German’s melodious opera, "Merrie Dngland." The presentation will be directed by Madame Irene Ainsley, and the cast will include Madame herself, Mrs. H. Milburn, and Messrs. Jack Maddox and Thomas Bradley. Instrumental selections to be played by the Studio Trio include items from the operas of Effenbach and _ selections from "Rose Marie." In continuing his _ interesting and popular talks, Mr. A. B. Chappell will speak on "The Maori -His Food.’ Mr. Bric Waters will contribute a piano novelty number, Polly." N Wednesday evening that popular combination the Salvation Army Congress Hall Band will again appear at 1YA and will contribute a welldiversified programme of band items including "American Melodies," "Army of the Brave,’ and "Love Divine." Assisting the band will be Mrs. L. Parry, soprano, and Mr. Frank Sutherland, baritone. A feature of this programmé will be the presentation of the first part of Verdi’s great opera "Rigoletto," per medium of the gramophone. The libretto and dialogue will be spoken by the well-known Jecturer and president of the AuckJand Gramophone Society, Mr. Karl Atkinson. This combination will contribute, among other items, selection from Sullivan’s light operas, and their initial appearance will be eagerly welcomed by all listeners. Also making their bow to the "mike" will be the "Potted Panto Players" in "Sinbad."
WUE EULA ed J) ADAME MARY TOWSEY’S Quartette will contribute the greater portion of the voeal programme on Friday evening. Their items include "How Fair Art Thou," "Frue Love,’ "Sapphic Ode," "In Summer Fields," "The Message," and "The Forge." The Studio Trio will also contribute selections including "Three Hungarian Dances" and "Intermezzo Op. 17." Mr. J. F. Montague will contribute elocutionary numbers, including "The Exile’s Return," and "Thomas Atkins." Mr. Cyril Towsey’s contribution to the Brahm’s portion of the proe will be "Andante" from "Sonata in F-Minor." A SPLENDID variety programme has been arranged for Saturday evening, the vocalists including The Snappy Three, Mr. Stan Pritchard, and Mrs. B. Jellard. Orchestral selections will also be played by the Studio Orchestra, while humour will be dispensed by Miss Maisie Carte-Lloyd. ‘The concluding portion of the programme will be given over to dance music until 11 p.m. HE Church Service for Sunday evening will be broadcast from St. James’ Church, the preacher being the Rey.
