URING the week "W.G.L." (Wyndham), on his detector and two-stage audio short-wave receiver, has heard :- Friday, 8th: PCJ, who was broadcasting gramophone items, was received at a strength of R9, volume being as loud as a New Zealand station, but decreased arter, In the evening RFM was the ‘ station heard (R77). On Saturd.y morning PCJ was received, transMitumg good music, strength being R8. Sunday, the 10th, 2XAF was broadeasting a special programme for the Byrd Hxvredition, and at 4 p.m, at strength of RY, increasing later to R9. Among the gramophone items was ‘‘Hero’s Return." During the morning RIM on 33 metres was heard at R9. 38LO sent out some good music on Monday morning, while in the evening RFM was heard at 83 metres, as well as 70 metres.
