iS INCH the rejection of the Baird Television system the Post-master-General has been asked if he knew of a@ television system capable of transmitting * moving . pictures of actual events for satisfactory reception by wireless listeners, and whether he was aware that the Baird Company had — recently been refused assistance by the B.B.C. In a written reply, the Post-master-General said: "I -know of no system which is at present capable of transmitting moving pictures of actual events for satisfactory reception by wireless listeners. I have not refused per-.-sion for the use of the B.B.C. tions for television tests. "The Governors of the Corporaation decided, in the exercise of the discretion vested in them, ufter a demonstration by the Baird Company, who hold an experimental license, that the system did not at present fulfil conditions which would justify @ publie trial through one of their stations. T have recently received an application frrom the Baird Company for further facilities. "This application is at,present under consideration, and I am not yet in a position to say anything Bir ther."
