Taumarunui Radio Club

PuE usual monthly meeting of the above club took place in the Kaitieke Dairy Company's board room on Monday August 27 last, Mr. Laird presiding over a good attendance of members. Correspondence with the local postmaster relative to interference was read, also the correspondence with the Radio Broadcasting Company. Considerable’ discussion took place over this and it was decided to write the Post and Telegraph Engineer at Auckland as well to see if we could secure his assistance. The interference has been very bad of late, and a* there is no efficient apparatus in the district to trace the trouble, it goes unchecked. One member stated that he had offered the Post and Telegraph Department the expenses of the man sent down to

locate the trouble, but this met with no response beyond a card that the matter would be attended to.. This happened some months ago, and such treatment by the department is not very encouraging to the holders of licenses. . very interesting lecture was given by Leicester on the principles of audio amplification and the use of power valves. A demonstration of a set loaned by Mr. Mangham was also given and was appreciated.
